Being Crafty

This month of June has really got me down. I've got the blues. I'm spending all my time doing homework and not being crafty. June and July are so important for me to recharge and I'm not getting to do it. After a hearty fit last night I decided to do some crafting today. Here is the picnic basket I redecorated. It came with this heinous red, yellow, blue, white striped liner. Tore that out, used it as a pattern and came up with this. The lid is my own design. What do you think?

Yummy Oatmeal

I'm super excited about this new oatmeal I found at Target. It's not really instant oatmeal. It's whole oats that you microwave with yummy blueberries in it. I like instant oatmeal but it normally turns into some kind of gruel and you're never quite sure what they used as flavoring.

Old but not forgotten

Remember this one? I started it back when Frank and I were dating. I cut it out then anyways. Right now I have so much grad school homework it isn't funny but I thought I'd work on this one in between homework. All work and no play makes Erin a very dull girl indeed.

My dilema right now is how big to make it? I have the material to make it a king. Teresa keeps asking me how many kings do I need for my bed. Can one ever have too many quilts for your bed?

Retirement Quilts

Elayne and Linda both have done so much for me at Daves Creek that I thought it was time I do something for them. These two ladies retired with many years of teaching experience. 30 plus years in education deserves a medal not a quilt but I don't know how to make medals.

Spicy!

This is the after math. Time to lean is time to clean.

$4.50. That's how much a jar of salsa is at the store. Can you believe it? When I bought some this spring to make a fiesta chicken recipe I about fell over. That's when I vowed to try making my own. After 4 hours in the kitchen I have 13 pints of the stuff. My fingers burn from the peppers and my kitchen is a mess but I have $60 worth of salsa.

My one complaint is that it is a bit runny. If I'm using it to cook with though that shouldn't be an issue.
